Centerfield Chicago Cubs Costume

Chicago Cubs Girl

Chicago Cubs Girl

I designed this costume complete with Cubs hat, earrings, and Cubs official giant logo. I wanted to buy a real league hard ball at the Cubs official store, but didn’t have the $$$, as I have had to make the costumes on a shoe-string budget. Before going to celebrate the Cubs win for the playoffs, I stopped at the store downstairs from my Skyscraper at 777 N. Michigan on the Magnificent Mile, and bought some groceries. At the cash register, was the exact hard league official baseball I wanted.  I decided to ‘buy’ it, thinking God wanted me to have it. But, when I put it with my order, the check out clerk said, “You can have it for free, someone just left it here!” Was I excited, as I took my CD song “Centerfield,” to sing at the Cubby Bear across from Wrigley Field. I went there and went on stage, where other girls were dancing. When they saw me with cleavage and a smile, one of the girls took my Cubbie hat off and stamped on it on the floor.  I picked it up and was going to walk off stage, when she came after me and pushed me into the back wall.  I then took of my shoe and was going to hit her with my high heel, but didn’t.  I just walked off. The owner apologized and asked me to stay.  I then changed my mind, when “she” went off stage, and I was allowed to do my baseball dance, complete with pretending to throw the league ball out into the audience. It was really the only thing ‘different’ that they had going that had never been done before, and I was glad I could provide that originality for the enjoyment of the Chicago Cubs Fan, for ”free,” despite the jealousy of the other women dancing on stage that humiliated me and embarrassed me in front of the whole crowd.

John Fogerty – Centerfield

(written by: John Fogerty)

Well, beat the drum and hold the phone – the sun came out today
We’re born again, there’s new grass on the field
Roundin’ third, and headed for home, it’s a brown-eyed handsome man
Anyone can understand the way I feel

Oh, put me in, coach – I’m ready to play today
Put me in, coach – I’m ready to play today
Look at me, I can be center field

Well, I spent some time in the Mudville Nine, watchin’ it from the bench
You know I took some lumps when the Mighty Case struck out
So Say Hey Willie, Taylor Cobb and Joe DiMaggio
Don’t say it ain’t so” you know the time is now

{Refrain}
Oh, put me in, coach – I’m ready to play today
Put me in, coach – I’m ready to play today
Look at me, I can be center field

Yeah! I got it, I got it

Got a beat-up glove, a homemade bat, and brand-new pair of shoes
You know I think it’s time to give this game a ride
Just to hit the ball and touch ’em all – a moment in the sun
It’s gone and you can tell that one goodbye

Oh, put me in, coach – I’m ready to play today
Put me in, coach – I’m ready to play today
Look at me, I can be center field
Oh, put me in, coach – I’m ready to play today
Put me in, coach – I’m ready to play today
Look at me, I can be center field

So Many Men
Language: English

So many men, so little time
So many men for Me & My
So many men, so little time
So many men for Me & My
So many men, so little time
So many men for Me & My
So many men, so little time
So many men for Me & My

It’s morning, I open my eyes
And everything’s still the same
I turn to the guy who stayed last night
and ask him: What’s your name?

This seems to happen more and more
I love those men one and all
Each new one I meet
Makes my heart beat fast
When I see them so strong and tall

So many men
So little time (so many men, so little time)
How can I lose?
So many men
so little time (so many men, for Me & My)
How can I choose?
So many men (so many men)
So little time (so many men, so little time)
How can I lose?
So many men (so many men)
so little time (so many men, for Me & My)
How can I choose?
So many men
